The first Jewish Chumash with English translation

London, 1785

Chamishah Chumshei Torah and Haftarahs in Hebrew with English translation on facing pages by Alexander Ben Yehuda Leib.

This is the first Jewish printing of the Chumash and Haftarahs with English translation.

Every one of the five volumes of the Chumash contains an illustrative copperplate title page depicting the baal koreh reading from the Torah, as well as the hagba that follows after reading from the Torah.
