Posek Hador Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, Rabbi of Brody: Large Handwritten Kuntress of Novellae and Responsa 

Large Folio Size kuntress (pamphlet) authored by Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, ab”d of Brody. This kuntress, dated 1844, contains the beginning pages of a treatise on Yoreh Dei’ah, marked 1-11, including novellae and responsa on shechita, treifos, ta’aroves, yayin nesech, the laws of sifrei Torah and a long response regarding the law of androgynous.

In addition, the kuntress includes two flyleaves on which Rabbi Shlomo writes: "My treatise on Yoreh Dei’ah… I began it on Tuesday… [on the] eighth of Tamuz, 1844, and may I merit to begin and complete it…"

Several sections of the manuscript were copied by his son and successor, Rabbi Abraham Binyamin Kluger, whose signature and seal can be found on the flyleaf as well.

Rabbi Shlomo Kluger (1785-1869) was an Acharon who served as the ab”d of Brody for close to fifty years. He was a renowned respondent and authored sefarim on all genres of Torah. He was a tremendous scholar and authored over one hundred and fifty sefarim including: Chachmas Shlomo on Shluchan Aruch, Sefer HaChaim, Mei Niddah, Nidrei Zerizin, Responsa Tuv Ta’am VaDa’as, Shnos Chaim, Avodas Avodah, Maaseh Yedei Yotzer, Imrei Shafer, Ein Dimah and many more.
