Imros Tehoros on the weekly Torah portions from the mouth of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, a "holy man of G-d" and lover of the Jewish people.
It was printed by the holy brothers Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, grandsons of the Rav of Slavita.
It is one of the foundational sefarim of chassidic teachings.
A very rare and beautiful copy boasting wide margins and with a special outer title page.
Before the regular title page is a preliminary title page with a frame, which reads: "Sefer Ohev Yisroel / Printed in Zhitomir / In the year 1863."
Immediately upon its publication, the sefer became a classic work in the chassidic world, to the extent that the holy Rabbi Chaim of Sanz said:
"Every Jew is obligated to pawn his spodik (fur hat) to purchase a sefer Ohev Yisrael."
In the introduction by the author’s grandson, Rabbi Meshulam Zusha of Zhinkov, he explains why he named his grandfather’s sefer ‘Ohev Yisrael’ (Lover of Israel): "For it was frequently on the Rav’s lips, that this trait [of Ahavas Yisrael] was one he could take pride in even before the Beis Din Shel Malah – that Ahavas Yisrael was firmly planted in his heart." He also instructed that only this title should be written on his tombstone.
With approbations from Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl and Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, who concludes his approbation with a blessing: "I hereby bless you that the merit of the holy Rav of Apta should protect you and benefit you in body and soul, with children, life and sustenance, both spiritual and physical."
