Divrei Moshe

Mezhibuzh, 1818

The Personal Copy of the Holy Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk!

Kabbalistic and chassidic explanations on the parshios by the holy Rebbe Moshe Shoham of Dolina, a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov.

This sefer is the personal copy of the holy Rebbe Shlomo HaKohen of Radomsk, author of ‘Tiferes Shlomo’! It was preserved for many generations in the archives of the Radomsk dynasty.

On the title page is the signature of his son and successor to the Radomsk rabbinate, the holy Rebbe Tzvi Meir, which reads:
"This sefer fell into my hands from my father, master and teacher zt"l, Tzvi Meir HaKohen Rabinowicz of Radomsk."

Afterwards, it became the inheritance of his son Rabbi Yehoshua Nachum HaKohen Rabinowicz.

There are kvittel notations in the sefer and on pages preserved within it.

In the margins of the sefer there are three handwritten Hagahos.

Rabbi Shlomo HaKohen Rabinowicz (1803-1866) was a prominent Rebbe who served as Av Beis Din of Radomsk. During his leadership, his name spread and thousands flocked to him from all corners of Europe seeking his blessings and advice. As a result, Radomsk quickly became one of the most important chassidic centers of Polish chassidus. Rabbi Shlomo published ‘Tiferes Shlomo’, which won widespread popularity and quickly joined the ranks of chassidic classics.

It was known throughout Poland that the Tiferes Shlomo had a miraculous influence in matters regarding parnassa. The Divrei Chaim remarked that the “key of parnassa” had been granted to him from Heaven so that he could bring about abundance for the Jews.

In the beginning of the year 1866, Rabbi Shlomo beheld a vision of his passing from the world that year. On the night of 29 Adar, he sat down to learn Sefer HaZohar. At midnight, he rested his head on the Zohar, and his soul departed.
.
His son, the holy Rebbe Tzvi Meir (1841-1882) succeeded him as Rav of the city. He was an exceptional gaon and great Kabbalist.

The title page bears the stamps of Rabbi Yehoshua Nachum HaKohen Rabinowicz, son of Rabbi Tzvi Meir.

The holy Rebbe Moshe Shoham of Dolina was one of the younger disciples of the Baal Shem Tov and was raised in the Baal Shem Tov’s home. In this sefer, he brings teachings he heard directly from him. After the Baal Shem Tov’s passing, he became close to his mechutan Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Zlotchov and he cites material from him in his sefer.

The sefer features haskamos from the Ohev Yisroel of Apta and the author’s son-in-law Rabbi Yitzchok of Radvil, son of the aforementioned holy Rebbe of Zlotchov.
