Sefer HaGoralos attributed to the "Seventy Zekeinim"

First and Rare Edition
Dyhernfurth, c. 1728

Sefer ‘Urim V’Tumim’ provides a system for conducting lotteries using allusions from the twelve stones of the Kohen Gadol’s breastplate. It is attributed to the "Seventy Zekeinim", used during the period of the Second Beis Hamikdash (as stated on the title page).

This is the first edition of the Sefer HaGoralos.

The sefer quickly became a beloved and popular work and was disseminated throughout the world. Based on this printing, many manuscripts were copied and numerous editions were subsequently published.

At the end of the sefer, additional short works were printed: ‘Sifrei Refuos’ – a collection of segulos and various remedies, one of them from the holy Shla"h; ‘Sidura D’Sihara’ – segulos for the days of the month; ‘Sefer Ha’Asidos’ – matters pertaining to reading the palm of the hand.

Dyhernfurth, c. 1728. First and rare edition. Some bibliographers date the printing earlier, to approximately 1700.

Page Count: [6], 34, [16] leaves.
Size: Approx. 15.5 cm.
Condition: Good. Some small holes and stains. Page reinforcement on last leaf. Beautiful antique binding combining parchment and marble paper (slightly damaged).

Some of the sheets were never cut – a rare phenomenon in early seforim. The title page features an antique signature. The binders used remnants of printed pages from another sefer with engravings.
