Impressive Milah Knife With Silver Handle. Presumably Moravia, 18th Century

Circumcision knife with silver handle depicting a swaddled baby. Infants were tightly swaddled from the shoulders downwards for comfort purposes. The knife bears a Czech customs or import hallmark in the shape of the letter B within a square from the year 1807 (see TARDY p. 398).

Preserved in a 19th century custom-made wooden case. Cloth covering is unraveled.

Condition: Good.
