The present silver Havdalah device is a combined candle-holder and besamim container. It is fully-marked with the city insignia of Nuremberg; a second mark, presumably the date; artisan’s insignia; and assayer’s zigzag-like mark. The item includes both a besamim drawer and adjustable holder for the Havdalah candle mounted on a round, domed base, embossed and chased with decorative patterns and a conical stem.
