Beautiful Large Silver Besamim Tower. Nuremberg, 18th Century

Large two-tiered octagonal shaped silver besamim tower.
Description: Marked with Nuremberg hallmark and artisan’s insignia IN or JN, both on the base and body of the tower.
The present silver besamim holder is shaped as an octagonal tower and fashioned in two silver tiers.
The lower tier features a hinged door and small windows adorned with fine engraving that is topped by an arcaded gallery.
The second tier is surrounded by pierced rounded openings and apertures. It is surmounted by a tall, tilework spire with a large hanging bell inside and topped by a ball knob and an animal head-shaped pennant with a sort of eye in the center. The entire piece is mounted on an elegant rounded base and cylindrical stem with scrolling projections attached to the body of the tower.
