Beautiful KIddush Cup. Tzfas 19th Century.
Engraved With Mekomos Hakedoshim.
Description:
Engraved silver kiddush cup, whose underside is stamped with an early hallmark of 12.
The engraving was likely done in Eretz Yisrael, in Tzfas.
The impressive engravings depict the most sacred sites with their names engraved below in Hebrew letters and set within foliate scroll borders. One medallion features an engraving of the Kosel, another of Me’aras Hamachpelah, and the third features the Tombs of the kings of Malchus Beis Dovid.

Kos shel Brachah
The kiddush cup and “cup of blessing” escorts a Jew throughout his life cycle. Beginning with the blessing recited at the circumcision, the blessings recited under the chuppah, and continuing with the kiddush and havdalah recited on every Shabbos and Yom Tov, the silver becher is an integral item in every Jewish home.
