Striking large silver Shabbat hanging lamp
 Turin c. 1820

This silver Shabbos lamp artistically crafted over 200 years ago is exceptionally rare for its impressive size, quality of craftsmanship, and magnificent beauty, all of which reflect its former owner’s affluence and socioeconomic status.

The Shabbos lamp was hung in the center of the house or above the Shabbos table.
The shabbos lamp is fashioned in the form of a star consisting of fifteen oil-spouts with an impressive drip cup attached to it below. Both are embellished with high-quality repoussé with floral, leaf, and scrolling foliage motifs and wirework loops with oval pendant weights.
The body of the lamp is suspended by three chains each made out of nine cast links chained to its domed top with wirework loops and styled pendants.

The lamp culminates in an ornamental small dome with repoussé, also chased with foliage and matching pendants, and has a large suspension ring at the top.

The lamp is marked twice with several unclear marks, both on the body and drip cup.
