The work was meticulously edited, vowelized and marked with cantillation marks, following the customs of Yemenite Jews.
Two-volume set:
Volume 1: Bereishis-Shemos in the original Lashon Hakodesh with Onkelos’ translation and the Rasag’s “Tafsir—commentary” presented line by line, with Rashi’s commentary added into the margins.
Volume 2: Vayikah-Devarim: The Lashon Hakodesh text presents in a single column. The adjacent column features Onkelus’ translation, the Rasag’s interpretation, and Rashi’s commentary in the margin.
The Taj (تاج), as it is called in Yemen, which means the “Keter” (crown), is the Chamishah Chumshei Torah in the precise traditions passed down from generation to generation by Yemenite Jewry, with Targum Onkelus. It was used throughout Yemenite communities.
The very first edition of Taj was printed in Jerusalem between the years 1894-1901.
