The holy Kabbalist
Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Eichenstein of Ziditchov (1763-1831) was described as the
“Sar Beis Hazohar—Minister of the House of the Zohar” due to his phenomenal mastery of the wisdom of kabbalah. His nephew Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Ziditchov attested that he once heard his uncle express that he numbered among the disciples of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai; and his nephew Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Komarno inscribed that ”His soul is the soul of Moreinu Harav Chaim Vital.”
In his endorsement to Ateres Tzvi, Rabbi Tzvi Hersh’s mechutan, the Bnei Yissachar inscribes: ”I have not seen or heard in this generation of one who delves into the wondrous wisdom of kabbalah as he, and he is singular in his generation in the wisdom of truth.”
Volume 2 opens with a collection of endorsements, among them approbations by the Yismach Moshe and Bnei Yissachar.
