Pardes Shoshanim – Asirei Tikvah.
This 3-scene play by Rabbi Yosef Pinso conveys Jewish ethics and philosophy through poetic dialogue. Asirei Hatikvah was the first Hebrew play published (A. Yaari. Hamachazeh HaIvri, Jerusalem 1957 p. 104).
The characters in this play include a king and a fool; the Satan; Pleasure; Truth; and its purpose is to distance a man from his heart’s negative desires.
The beginning of the book features numerous poems both in Hebrew and Spanish by Amsterdam Rabbanim and poets, among them Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhav; Rabbi Avraham Hakohein Pimintel; Rabbi Shlomo de Olviera, and others.
Book complete, contains all pages in Portuguese, Spanish and Latin.

Page size: 14.5 cm. 6 first leaves are slightly shorter than other leaves. Title page margin lightly restored.Good condition; new half-leather binding.
