with Woodcut Illustrations
Ashkenaz, 1763
Storybook contains two stories in Yiddish from the early belles-lettres literary style period.
1. The first story is about a king who delivers an order to arrest and imprison all wise men and to invite all the fools of the kingdom to revel together with him.
2. The second story is about a woman who attempted to poison her husband and received her recompense. This story is a parable underscoring that every person receives his due.
These stories, written in old Yiddish, were published for the first time in Germany. The book features three pretty woodcut illustrations.
