Sefer Yesod
Nagid U’Mitzvah.
Shulchan Aruch Ha’Ari
First Edition. Amsterdam, 1712
Fundamental sefer presenting practical guidance to managing one’s daily schedule, praying and fulfilling mitzvos based on the kabbalistic teaching of the Arizal. The sefer contains numerous edits and annotations by the revered kabbalist Rabbi Yaakov Tzemach.
The sefer opens (leaf 4a) with a large title
“Shulchan Aruch Al Derech Ha’emes”
The last page in the sefer features a large folded chart with an illustration of the menorah. This chart is exceedingly rare and missing from the vast majority of known copies. In the present sefer, the chart is complete.
The second half of the sefer enumerates segulos, tikkunim and wondrous teachings by Rabbi Chaim Vital.
Nagid U’Mitzvah was brought to print by Rabbi Yosef Elyashar based on a handwritten manuscript that he carried with him to Amsterdam while journeying to Europe on behalf of the destitute Yishuv in Yerushalayim (see Shem Hagedolim, Nagud U’mitzvah).
