Replete with gematria and profound kabbalistic teachings including the topic of gilgulim, which are regarded as fundamentals to learning kabbalah.
The present first-edition sefer is an exceedingly rare and valuable find.
Rabbi Nosson Nutta Shapira (1585–1633) was a grandson of the Maharnash, Rabbi Nosson Shapira of Horodna. He authored Mevo She’arim and was the chief rabbi of Cracow. Described by his descendant Rabbi Yehonasan Eibschitz “The third mouth of the Arizal” (preface to Kreisi U’pleisi), Rabbi Nosson Nuta was instrumental in disseminating the Arizal’s kabbalistic teachings throughout Poland. The Chida in Shem Hagedolim recounts that a Maggid appeared to Rabbi Nosson Nutta from the heavens, just like one appeared to the Beis Yosef. In his introduction to Megaleh Amukos, Rabbi Nosson Nutta’s son divulges that Eliyahu Hanavi appeared to him, as well.

A genius in both the revealed and hidden Torah, he was one of the privileged few who overheard the Maggid (heavenly angel) conversing with the Ramaz (Shem Hagedolim, Ramaz). Rabbi Gur Aryeh’s comments on Shulchan Aruch were printed in Mantua, 1722.
