Sacred lectures delivered by the holy Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Riminov on Shabbosos and Yomim Tovim; transcribed by his prime disciple the Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Panet, Av Beis Din of Carlsburg and author of Mareh Yechezkel.
The
Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Riminov (1745-1815) was one of the fathers of Chassidus in Poland and Galicia. As the prime disciple of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, he was crowned Admor after the latter’s passing in 1786, and drew thousands to his Holy Court in Riminov. Among his noted disciples were the Admor Rabbi Naftali Tzvi of Ropshitz; the Admor Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Ziditchov; the authors of
Maor Vashemesh, Bnei Yissachar and Malei HaRo’im, and the Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Panet who collected and edited the
lectures in this sefer.
The Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Panet (1783-1845) Av Beis Din of Carlsburg and author of Mareh Yechezkel was introduced to the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Riminov by his friend the Admor Rabbi Naftali Tzvi of Ropshitz. In a famous letter printed in Mareh Yechezkel Ch. 104, Rabbi Yechezkel describes how his soul connected immediately to the soul of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel and he began transcribing his lectures and discourses, eternalizing them for posterity. Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Riminov never penned his teachings on paper, and it is only through his disciple Rabbi Yechezkel’s work that his Torah remains with us.
