Shulchan shel Arba
by Rabbeinu Bachya.
Mantua, circa 1514
___
Fundamental sefer on Hilchos Brachos, eating and meals, along with mussar kabbala and rules of conduct.
The sefer is divided into four sections, with the last one discussing and the future seudah of tzaddikim at the end of days and the resurrection of the dead.
Rabbi Yosef Caro cites this sefer several times in his landmark work Beis Yosef regarding the laws of brachos and matters pertaining to eating.
Rabbeinu Bachya ben Rabbi Asher ibn Halawa (circa 1255-1340) of the great commentators on the chumash, as well as one of the earliest known kabbalists. Rabbeinu Bachya, who dwelled in Saragossa, Spain in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, was the prime disciple of the Rashba; his study of kabbalah followed that of the Ramban. His sefarim cite kabbalists and midrashim of Chazal that are today unknown.
The colophon of this edition incorrectly attributes the sefer to the Ramban.
During this same period of time, this sefer was also printed in Constantinople, and bibliographers estimate that it was also printed circa 1514.
