This small pamphlet is an exceedingly rare and valuable find!
Dinei D’Gramei discusses the laws of damages which a person can inflict either upon his fellow man or upon the latter’s possessions, not directly, but through what is halachically termed a “grama” – an indirect result of his action. The Ramban writes in the present kuntress that “These concepts are deep, and their differences are fine as a hairsbreadth, ” which is why he authored a special pamphlet on this topic.
This sefer was printed a second time within Chiddushei Ramban, Bava Basra (Venice, 1523) based on a different manuscript than the Constantinople edition containing several changes in the text. The writings of the Achronim, among them the Beis Yosef and Shach, indicate that the version they had in their possession was the later Venice edition, and that they never saw the earlier Constantinople edition.
