Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv
Shavil, 1892
___
Handwritten postcard by the saintly kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv, the “Baal Haleshem” to his dear friend and kabbalist Rabbi Shraga Meir (Leizerovitch).
The Leshem opens and concludes his letter with words of blessing,
“Hashem should add His loving kindness upon him …May Hashem Yisborach be with him, and may he ascend higher and higher.”
Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv (1842-1926), renowned as the Baal Haleshem, was a descendant of the Arizal and Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropoli as he mentions in his introduction. From his early youth, he conducted himself with extreme holiness, piety and abstention, devoting the hours of his day to the revealed Torah and the night hours he devoted to studying the depths of the hidden Torah. It was said that since the times of the Ramak, there was never a sefer that so clearly illuminated the wisdom of kabbalah as Leshem Shvo V’achlamah.
Shavil, 1892. Postcard. Good condition.
