by Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla
First Edition
Hanau, 1610

Fundamental work for beginners studying the wisdom of kabbalah by the renowned kabblist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla. The title page is magnificently illustrated with images of Moshe and Aharon, Akeidas Yitzchak, and drawings of birds and animals. The title page is partially printed in red ink.
Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla was one of the great kabbalists in the era of the Rishonim. “In Yisrael, his name is great in Torah and chassidus, and is extremely holy, ” from the praise of the Shl”a Hakadosh in the latter’s approbation to his sefer. Rabbi Yosef authored fundamental works of Kabbalah including Shaarei Tzedek and Shaarei Orah, which were among the first Kabbalistic works to be written after the discovery of the Zohar.
The sefer opens with an approbation by the Shl”a Hakadosh who effusively praises both the sefer and author and notes that printing and publicizing kabbalistic works is a segulah to draw the final redemption ever closer.
Hanau, 1610. First edition. 75 leaves (pages misnumbered). Page size: 28 cm. Title page slightly reinforced and professionally restored. Otherwise in good condition. American leather binding.
