Customs of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk
Rituals and practices for serving Hashem according to Chassidic thought by Rabbi Zecharyah Mendel of Yaroslav, including practices from his spiritual master Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, author of Noam Elimelech.
One of the first published books detailing the customs of Chassidic Tzaddikim.
The printer writes in his introduction, “… righteous practices by the well-known rabbi and Chassid… Rabbi Mendel, Av Beis Din of Liska. These practices are mentioned and practiced by one of the disciples of the great man of Elokim who is called holy, the well-known rabbi and Chassid, the holy light Rabbi Elimelech zt”l.”
Rabbi Zecharyah Mendel of Yaroslav was the prime disciple of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, and it was he who authored the Iggeres Hakodesh printed at the end of Noam Elimelech. As mentioned in the approbation of the Noam Elimelech, Rabbi Zecharyah was responsible for the first printing of the Noam Elimelech together with Rabbi Elimelech’s son Rabbi Elazar.
Featured at the end of the sefer are “Hanhagos” of Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Zlotchov, a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov.
He also quotes concepts attributed to the Baal Shem Tov and Maggid of Mezritch.
