Illustrated Passover Haggadah with commentaries by the Alshich, Maharal of Prague and Kli Yakar, along with laws and instructions in both Yiddish and Ladino.
The Haggadah opens with two title pages, one of them with engraved copper designs.
Throughout the Haggadah, there are an additional 9 striking illustrations, each with copper engravings based on the engravings that appeared in the Amsterdam Haggadah. The last page is a large folded map of Eretz Yisrael (in Latin letters), surrounded by intricate drawings of the holy vessels in the Beis Hamikdash and of Aaron Hakohen.
Metz, 1767. Moshe May Press. [2], 63 leaves, folded map. Page size: 21 cm. This Haggadah features an approbation by the Shaagas Aryeh, who served as Rabbi of Metz in the mid-eighteenth century. Wine stains, but otherwise good condition. New attractive half-leather binding.
