Binyan Habayis by the Author of Metzudos
Livorno, 1782
Rare copy with large folded map!

Binyan Habayis by Rabbi Yechiel Hillel Altschuler presents a precise, detailed description of the structure of the Third Beis Hamikdash and division of Eretz Yisrael. The present copy includes the complete original maps.
Rabbi Yechiel Hillel Altschuler is most famous for his Metzudas Dovid and Metzudas Tzion commentaries on Nevi’im and Kesuvim. In the course of preparing his commentary on Sefer Yechezkel, the author found it necessary to present a more detailed description of the structure and design of the Third Beis Hamikdash as described by the Prophet and thus authored a separate kuntress on this topic which he entitled Binyan Habayis.
Two folded leaves were added to the back of the book. The first is an illustration of the structure of the future Beis Hamikdash, and the second is a map delineating the borders and future division of Eretz Yisrael.
The Hebrew Bibliography (Record 176816) lists: “These illustrations are missing from most copies.” The present copy is complete.
