Commentary on Chamishah Chumshei Torah, Festivals, Chazal and midrashim by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, one of the progenitors of Chassidus.
The present edition included many additions and amendments drawn from the author’s handwritten manuscripts. This is likewise the first edition to contain Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s writings on Chanukah and Purim, these sections are titled “Kedushos”, making it the first edition of the complete Kedushas Levi.
An approbation by the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, author of Ohev Yisrael, appears on the title page verso. In the course of his endorsement and blessings, he writes,
“Surely the merit of the author and holiness of his sefarim shall shield and safeguard wherever they are found to draw upon us a river of peace…and they should hurry to purchase these sacred works at full price…”
The sefer also features an endorsement by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev’s prime disciple, the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Zhitomir, author of Toldos Aharon.
