First Day of Selichos, 5692 (1932)

May you be blessed this New Year with good life and longevity, and may you rejoice with the joy of the upcoming Festival of Succos”

Long letter by the illustrious Av Beis Din of Vilna, Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski, spanning a broad range of fascinating topics, along with warm blessings for the New Year.

This letter, written entirely by the holy hand of Rabbi Chaim Ozer and boasting his autograph, was written to Rabbi Eliezer Silver, Av Beis Din of Cincinnati, formerly a select student of Rabbi Chaim Ozer.

The body of the letter spans an array of topics including the Diskin orphanage in Jerusalem; a request by Rabbi Chaim Ozer’s brother-in-law Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman to fundraise in Cincinnati on behalf of Yeshivas Ohel Torah in Baranowitz; and a request to assist an emissary of the yeshivah in Rameilles.

In the letter, Rabbi Chaim Ozer praises the yeshivah effusively, describing how it expanded and flourished after World War One., He further mentions Rabbi Shlomo Heiman, who was then known as Rabbi Shlomo Paritsher, as a maggid shiur in the yeshivah.
