This lengthy 8-page handwritten letter, inscribed by Rabbi Dovid Yehuda Zilberstein, Av Beis Din of Weitzen and author of Yad Dovid, is replete with marvelous chiddushim and pilpul regarding the laws of shofar on Rosh Hashanah.

Rabbi Dovid Leib Zilberstein Hy”d (1884-1944), Av Beis Din of Weitzen, was the son of the Maase Lamelech.

He was born within the year of the passing of his illustrious grandfather, the Shvilei Dovid, and was his namesake.

Rabbi Dovid Leib was a disciple of Rabbi Shaul Brach of Kashoy and was ordained by the Levushei Mordechai. In 1930, he succeeded his father as Rav and Av Beis Din of Weitzen, where he led a prominent yeshivah and disseminated Torah.

He perished in the Holocaust in 1944.
