Selichos in Ashkenazic Rite. Venice, 1600
Selichos for the month of Elul, Tishrei and fast days, following the customs of Ashkenazic Jewish communities.
This edition of Selichos includes commentary, laws and customs, which were authored and compiled by Rabbi Yitzchak ben Rabbi Yaakov Yozevel Segal of Herrlisheim.
This Selichos also includes the order of viduy to be recited while practicing the custom of lashes for atonement on erev Yom Kippur, as well as piyyutim recited by the Shomrim Laboker Society in Venice.
On the last page are the prayers recited during Selichos, the 13 Middos and “K-el Melech” in large font. The first letters (initials) are set in decorative borders.
Venice, 1600. Bragadine Press. 132 leaves. 29.5 cm, with handwritten instructions and notes that were added during the printing era, indicating that this Selichos was used by a chazzan. Used condition with stains and wax marks throughout sefer. Light professional restorations on title page with margins cropped to edge of frame. Restored antique leather binding.
