“Halachos of Shechitah and Inspection by Reuven Hochfeld, Shochet and Shaliach Tzibbur”

80 handwritten leaves encompassing the laws of shechitah and bedikah in Yiddish.

The end of the manuscript features a handwritten certificate to the shochet, signed by Rabbi Avraham Farenbach, Av Beis Din of Detmold and Lippe. This certificate, dated 1837, and other certificates attesting that Hochfeld was retested by Rabbi Farenbach on the laws of shechitah both in 1839 and 1844, are attached to this manuscript.

Rabbi Avraham Farenbach, Av Beis Din of Detmold in the Principality of Lippe, is presumably the son and successor of Rabbi Moshe Farenbach, Av Beis Din of Detmold and Lippe.

Germany, 1837-1838. [82 leaves. 17.5 cm. Light green paper. The last page includes notes in German. Bound together with the sefer Hilchos Shechitos U’bedikos L’Mahar”i Weil with Gevul Yisrael commentary by Rabbi Yaakov Eilenberg (c, 1821). Good condition. Original binding in matching case.
