Darchei Chaim on Maseches Eiruvin by Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Adler, Av Beis Din of Farra
Novellae and anthology of explanations on maseches Eiruvin Ch. 2-3 by Harav Chaim Mordechai Adler, Av Beis Din of Farra and its environs. This handwritten manuscript inscribed by the author’s son was never published.
In 1920, the author’s son published his father’s chiddushim on maseches Eiruvin which he personally copied from the pages of his father’s gemara. Due to lack of funds and paper, he was only able to print the novellae on the first chapter, and those on the second and third chapters remained unpublished until this very day.
Harav Chaim Mordechai Adler (1863-1918) was the Av Beis Din of Farra and author of Darchei Chaim. He was a genius and kabbalist who mastered both the Revealed and Hidden Torah, was exceedingly stringent in his observance of mitzvos, fasted frequently and abstained from physical pleasure in his service of Hashem. He was a disciple of Harav Chaim Tzvi Mannheimer, Av Beis Din of Ungvar; a son-in-law of Harav Amram Yishai Bilitzer; and received semichah from the Beis Naftali. His noteworthy sefarim include Darchei Chaim on Torah and Shas and Segulos U’refuos.
47 large leaves (94 sides). Page size: 34×21 cm . Manuscript in his son’s handwriting with several illustrations intended to clarify the meaning of the gemara. Endpaper features the author’s stamp. Minor damage to margins. Preserved in an attractive new box.
