This sefer contains discussions and novella on halachos pertaining to the Land of Israel with the autograph of the author Harav Moshe Kliers, Av Beis Din of Teveria.
Harav Moshe Kliers was one of the greatest authorities on the laws pertaining to Eretz Yisrael. His son related that his father once mentioned that he had learned Seder Zeraim of Talmud Yerushalmi 14 times before compiling Toras Ha’Aretz.
Sefer Toras Ha’Aretz was accepted as a fundamental work for the laws of Shmittah and mitzvos hateluyos ba’Aretz. Practically all future works addressing these halachos reference this sefer.
Harav Moshe Kliers (1874- 1943), Av Beis Din Teveria, was a genius in Torah and chassidus and one of the premier sages in Eretz Yisrael in the previous generation. He was born in Tzfas and moved to Teveria after his wedding and was of the foremost Slonimer chassidim. He established the Ohr Torah Yeshiva in Teveria in the year 1900 and was appointed Rav of the city in 1909.
The two volumes of Toras Ha’Aretz were published during the years 1925-1934. This manuscript includes the second volume with many additions that were not published in the original edition. New and expanded editions were published in the years 2000-2008 based on this manuscript.
