Sefer Avodas Hakodesh by the Chida, Harav Chaim Yosef David Azzulai. This sefer includes seven separate essays on halachah, customs, mussar, teshuvah, prayers and segulot. They include: Moreh B’etzba, Tziporen Shamir, Kesher Gadol, Kaf Achas, Yosef B’seder, Sonson L’yair and Shomer Yisrael.
Historical introduction by the first Jerusalemite printer Rabbi Yisrael Beck regarding the reestablishment of his printing press after it was relocated from Tzfas to Jerusalem in the wake of the Syrian Peasant Revolt.
Many of the prayers that have made their way into our siddurim were first established by the Chida in these sefarim. This work is also the source of the well-known segulah of writing out Lamnatzeach B’niginos in the shape of the menorah.
