Handwritten & Autographed Letter by Harav Itzik’l of Pshevorsk. Antwerp.

Letter of recommendation for a grandson of the Admor of Nadvorna who visited Antwerp as a shaliach mitzvah.

This letter, handwritten and autographed by Harav Itzik’l of Pshevorsk, was penned on Motza’ei Shabbos, “close to dawn.” It is known that the famed Rav Itzik’l served Hashem throughout the night, sleeping minimally and exploiting the quiet hours of the nights to toil passionately in Torah and chessed.

He mentions his lineage to the Noam Elimelech in his signature; “Moshe Yitzchak, grandson of the Rabbi of all Yisrael, Rabbeinu Rabbi Elimelech …may his merit protect us and all of Yisrael.”

Rabbi Itzik’l of Pshevorsk (1882-1976) was a leading Chassidic leader and devout chassid of the Admor of Shinova. He established his Holy Court in Pshevorsk, Poland where his name spread far and wide as a holy and pious leader. After the Holocaust, he settled in Antwerp where thousands flocked to him for blessing.

Antwerp, Undated
. Written on personal stationery during his years in Antwerp (1957-1976). Page size: 20×13 cm. Hole punched on bottom margin.
