An important Yemenite Documentation.
1. Kesubah of Rabbi Suleiman ben Salam Elkapach, [1844]. The verso features the prenuptial financial agreement with the signature of Mori Yichya Salah (1804-1853), renowned as Maharitz ben Yaakov who was one of the foremost dayanim in Sana’a. Page size: 32×21 cm.

6. Kesubah of Chacham Mori David Kapach. Sanaa 1908
The Ketubah of Chacham Mori David son of Rabbi Yechiya Kapach, with Mrs. Nechara, daughter of Rabbi Yechiya Saleh [1908]
With his signature on the ketubah and additional signature on the other side from the year 1917.
On the header of each kesubah are the words ‘Mazal U’Brachah’ in large font. The versos each feature prenuptial financial agreements, complete with signatures.
The location recorded on all these kesubos is
Ka-Bir Elazav, which was the Jewish neighborhood outside the limits of Sana’a.
Rabbi David Kapach [1802-1909], the son and disciple of Mori Yachya Kapach Rabbi of Sanaa, was the father of the sage Rabbi Yosef Kafach. He was a great scholar with an outstanding memory and a remarkable knowledge of grammar. He suffered much and passed away at the young age of only 27. Kesubah #1 has a small hole. The others have fold marks and marginal tears, but no missing text.
