Handwritten double-sided manuscript written in the hand of the Holy Mekubal Harav Chaim Vital, leading disciple of the Arizal.

Writings from his sefer Eitz Hadaat Tov. Contains two parts from his Shabbat Shuvah drashah, in which he expands on the principles and significance of teshuvah, offers a perush on the haftarah of “Shuvah Yisrael” and discusses the unique essence of Shabbat Shuvah.

Harav Chaim Vital added a marginal note and concluded with a verse hinting to his name
"U’vecharta Bachaim.” (you should choose life-
chaim)

Harav Chaim Vital (1543-1620) was the prime disciple who relayed the Arizal’s Torah to the world. Far be it for us to understand, however, it is written that at the beginning of their profound and enduring connection, the Arizal enabled him to drink from the “Well of Miriam” those waters opened a window to the Gates of Higher Wisdom. From then on, he clung to his teacher and master, and eventually committed his teachings to writing.

Harav Chaim Vital became the Arizal’s spiritual heir. After the Arizal’s passing, Rav Vital shared the foundations of his master’s kabbalistic teachings with a group of kabbalists who flocked to him. He became known as a miracle worker, and many appealed to him to free them from evil spirits and dybbuks. He also distributed amulets and segulot.

Today, our spiritual legacy from the Arizal is based primarily on the writings of Harav Chaim Vital. In fact, the Chida cautioned scholars to only study kabbalistic works based on the writings of Harav Chaim Vital as opposed to the writings of any of the Arizal’s other students.

The manuscript has a handwritten annotation by Harav Shmuel Vital.
At the beginning of the second drashah, Harav Chaim’s son Harav Shmuel wrote, "This was also copied in its entirety in the weekly portion of Ha’azinu, " meaning that it was copied into his work Totzaot Chaim.
