Handwritten letter by Harav Naftali Hakohein Fried, Av Beis Din of Pavlovitz, with an urgent request to support the bachurim in the Meholowitz Yeshivah whom he describes as “Tzon kodoshim who toil in Torah day and night for the sake of Heaven, and whose situation is dire.”

Harav Naftali Hakohein Fried Hy”d was the son of Hagaon Harav Yechiel Mechel Fried. His father succeeded his grandfather, Harav Yehoshua Heschel Hakohein Fried, author of the Zichron Yehoshua, as Av Beis Din of Kopisch.

Harav Naftali was also the son-in-law and right-hand of Hagaon Harav Moshe Greenberger, Av Beis Din of Meholowitz, whom he assisted in running the Yeshivah in Meholowitz where this letter was written. He edited and published Kovetz Shaarei Orah in Meholowitz. Harav Naftali Fried perished in the Holocaust.
