Signed and autographed semichah letter of the Slovakian sage Harav Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal, author of Mishnah Sachir. The semichah was written and awarded by Harav Avraham Yitzchak Glick — Av Beis Din of Tolchova and author of Yad Yitzchak.


Harav Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal Hy”d (1885-1945), Av Beis Din of Pishtian, was one of the illustrious Rabbanim in Slovakia in the pre-Holocaust era. He corresponded frequently with his contemporaries on halachic issues and authored Shu”t Mishnah Sachir. During the early years of World War II, he delved into the subjects of exile, redemption, and settling in Eretz Yisrael and published his thoughts and opinions in the sefer Eim Habanim Smeichah.


Harav Avraham Yitzchak Glick (1826-1909) Av Beis Din of Tolchova and one of the pillars of Torah and Halachah in Hungary in that era. He served as Rav and Rosh Yeshivah in Tolchova for over 50 years. This semichah was written when he was already eighty-three years old.

The Yad Yitzchak begins by writing his disciple’s acronym in the opening words, “Yesh sachar b’amalo, there is reward for his efforts. Shlomo shemo, u’shleimah mishnaso, Shlomo is his name and his learning is complete.” Further in the letter, he mentions Harav Teichtal’s full name along with that of his father-in-law, Rav Yaakov Yosef Ginz — author of Harei Besamim.
