Novellae on the weekly portions of sefer Bereishis in the handwriting of Harav Yisrael Moshe Tzvi Hirsh Herschler-Tirtzes, who served as the Dayan of Topolshan.


Harav Yisrael Moshe Tzvi Herschler-Tirtzes Born in 1819 (assumed) to his father Harav Binyamin Zev Wolf Herschler-Tirtzes; Av Beis Din of Topolshan and a disciple of the Chasam Sofer. Harav Wolf, who was orphaned in his early youth and raised by his mother Tirtza, was called Tirtzes after her. Rabbi Moshe Hersh published his father’s work Tiferes Shabbos in which he is praised warmly in the approbations of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz as well as the Ksav Sofer and the Shoel U’Mashiv.
