Handwritten letter of thanks and blessing by Harav Binyamin Zev Wolf Breier,

Av Beis Din of Tab and Author of Responsa Nachalas Binyamin to Harav Avraham Tzvi Klein, Av Beis Din of Silesh and author of Responsa Be’eros Avraham. Both the letter writer and the recipient were prominent disciples of the Ksav Sofer.


Hagaon Harav Binyamin Zev Wolf Breier (1830-1893) was Av Beis Din of Tab and one of the noted disciples of the Ksav Sofer. In his generation, he was regarded as one of the greatest authors of halachic responsa in Hungary, as evident from the extensive correspondence with Hungarian sages documented in his Nachalas Binyamin.

In 1857, he assumed the position of Av Beis Din of Rogensdorf, and circa 1871, relocated to Tab where he served as Rav until his passing in 1893.
