Rare find!

50-Year Calendar. Basel, 1610

Jewish calendar, complete with the Yomim Tovim, Rosh Chodesh, weekly Torah portions, molad and tekufah for 55 years (1610-1664).

Calendar printed without title page. The letters ל-ו-ח (luach, calendar) are printed within decorative initials.

The last part features a Sefiras Ha’omer chart along with relevant laws and the psalm “Lamnatzeach bineginos” inscribed in the shape of a menorah.

The following text appears on the page margin: “This chart of the Blessing of the Omer was printed in the illustrious city of Basel, in the home of Konrad Waldkirch, 1610”. The colophon indicates that this Sefiras Ha’omer chart was also printed and disseminated separately.

Very rare calendar. In his list of Basel publications, Preis records that it was likely printed together with a book of customs (מנהגים), although there is no actual known or recorded book of this sort.

Basel, 1610. [8] leaves. Page size: 21×14 cm. Restorations on the margin of the first page. Top third of pages stained. Preserved in cardboard case swathed in green fabric.
