Long, handwritten pamphlet, written by Harav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach zt”l regarding whether it is permissible to plant seeds at the end of the sixth year of the Shemittah cycle if they will only be absorbed in the earth during the seventh year. In this work the Harav Shlomo Zalman quotes the Chazon Ish’s opinion on the matter and discusses it.
Harav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (1910-1995) was leading Posk in the recent generation who dealt extensively with the mitzvos hateluyos ba’Aretz and was one of the ruling authorities regarding any questions pertaining to Shemittah. His sefer Maadanei Eretz on Shemittah was one of his very first publications.
