Early Handwritten , Autographed Letter by Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, Av Beis Din of Ponovicz. 1924.

Letter of recommendation by the Ponoviczer Rav Harav Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman on behalf of a young man who had learned in his yeshivah, entered the working world but then returned to the bench of the beis medrash and now wished to settle permanently in the Holy Land.

In his letter, the Ponoviczer Rav commends the young man who
“surmounted his challenge of leaving the business world and coming to take shelter in the our beis medrash.”

The Ponoviczer Rav Hagaon Harav Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman (1886-1969) was one of the greatest Torah luminaries in Lithuania before the Holocaust. In 1919 he succeeded the venerable Rabbi Itzele Ponoviczer as Rav of Ponovicz, where he originally established his world-famous yeshivah.
