Early Letter of Torah Novellae by the Chazon Ish. Vilna, 1913.
This rare postcard, handwritten and autographed by the Chazon Ish, Harav Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz, discusses intricate halachic concepts in Seder Kodshim. The letter is postmarked 1913 and was written during the period that he resided in Vilna.
The letter is autographed with his full name
Avraham Yeshaya’ which is exceedingly rare, as the majority of Chazon Ish’s autographs appear only with the acronym אי"ש.
The body of the text begins with an apology for the delayed response, and is written in the Chazon Ish’s graceful poetic style.
Postcard.14x9cm. Dated based on the postmark. Not printed in the works of the Chazon Ish, although it appears in the Zichron Moshe pamphlet (New York, ND, p.14).
