Inspiring Letter by the Rogotchover. Dvinsk, 1932
The Rogotchover was renowned as the foremost Talmudic scholar of his times. His genius was legendary, and his Torah novellae and ability to link seemingly unrelated sources in gemara were extraordinary. The present letter is clear testimony of his unparalleled talents.
This postcard, penned on 11 Nissan, was written to notify the recipient, Dayan Nosson Nutta of Montreal, that the money that had been sent had never arrived. However, between his words, the Rogotchover sprinkles numerous Talmudic references referring to the apparent missing money and expanding to over 15 talmudic sources regarding ownerships and related topics, exhibiting a glimpse of his genius.
Dvinsk, 1932. Postcard. Written on both sides. Good condition.
