There are some 30 lengthy glosses on the margins of the Shulchan Aruch written in the hand of his holy son Harav Dov Berish of Biala. These notations have never been published.
On page 131, Harav Dov Berish left a notation in the name of his father with the following header, “In the name of my father, my master, the goan and chassid, mori v’rabi Harav Avraham.”
Harav Avraham of Chechnov (1784-1875) was the father of the Chechnov-Strikov dynasty. He was one of the great Admorim of Poland and a genius of both hidden and revealed Torah. Harav Menachem Mendel of Kotzk said that, "He has the image of an angel of Hashem." The Chiddushei Harim wrote in a responsa regarding the permissibility of a newly discovered species of chickens that he did not investigate them since the Rav of Chechnov uses them and, "he is well known as a gadol and tzaddik."
His son, Harav Dov Berish of Biala (1820-1876), father of the Biala- Strickov dynasty, was regarded as a talmid chacham since his youth. The Rav of Kotzk respected him greatly because of his greatness in Torah. After the passing of Harav Menachem Mendel of Vorka, most of his chassidim became followers of Rav Dov Berish..
