Rabbi Yisrael Najara (1555-1628) was one of the greatest Jewish poets and lyricists of all time. He was the son of Rabbi Moshe Najara, one of the prime disciples of the Arizal and author of Lekach Tov. The Arizal Hakadosh professed that Rabbi Yisrael’s songs “Are valued in the heavens” (Chida, Shem Hagedolim).
