Very rare letter!
Handwritten Letter by the Admor Harav Yoel of Satmar from his early days in Irshava
Letters written by the Satmar Rav during his tenure in Irshava are very rare, with only a few remaining in the world.
In 1911, at the young age of 24, Harav Yoel of Satmar received his very first rabbinical position in Irshava. He maintained this position for the next 14 years before assuming the position of Av Beis Din in Karoli in 1925.
This handwritten letter was penned on behalf of his cousin Harav Menachem of Gerlitz “who currently needs funds to marry off his daughter…and please draw him close as much as possible.” Harav Menachem Gerlitz was the son of Av Beis Din of Volve Harav Yisrael Yaakov Teitelbaum, who was a son-in-law of his uncle – the Yitav Lev of Satmar.
