Harav Avraham Chanoch Friedman Hy”d, (1866-1945) was Rav in Satmar and the son of Harav Tzvi Yehudah Friedman — a son-in-law of the Chasam Sofer. Harav Avraham was raised in the home of the Chasam Sofer’s son, his uncle Harav Yuzpa Sofer, and subsequently studied under his uncle Harav Yehudah Greenwald, author of Zichron Yehudah. The latter appointed his nephew as a dayan in Satmar where he gained repute for his brilliant halachic rulings. Harav Avraham undertook to publish his uncle’s sefarim which were printed as Zichron Yehudah.
