This Tehillim Diglei Hodaya V’Hamitzvah was treasured by the Chassidic masters, many of whom chose to daven specifically from this edition of Tehillim and to learn the chassidus and Torah novellae printed in it.
The Tehillim includes Seder Maamados by the Admor of Apta.
The Maamados, as arranged by the Admor of Apta, are printed in the back of this volume.
The subscribers list’ include the sons of the Admor Harav Yitzchak of Skver: the Admorim Harav Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Skver, Harav Menachem Nochum of Shpikov, Harav Yisrael, and Harav Dovid of Skver.
The stamp of the Admor Harav Levi Yitzchak Monson (1843-1918) appears in the title pages of the Tehillim and Maamados. The Admor was the son of Harav Yosef of Berditchev — a son-in-law of the holy Admor Harav Yisrael of Ruzhin. Harav Levi Yitzchak grew up in the home of his illustrious grandfather who praised the youth’s exceptional prayers. After the passing of his grandfather, Harav Yosef learned Torah and chassidus from his uncle the Admor of Sadigura whom he regarded as his primary teacher and mentor. Harav Levi Yitzchak was venerated in his generation for his piety and lineage, and admired for his remarkable humility.
