First Kabbalistic Siddur: Order of Prayer for the entire year with intentions
(Kavanos) of the Arizal compiled by the revered kabbalist Rabbeinu Chaim Cohen, disciple of Rabbi Chaim Vital. bound in 2 Vol.
Part I: Shaarei Rachamim. This section encompasses Prayers for the Weekday and Shabbos; Chanukah; Purim; Order of Study and Order of the Meal; other prayers and segulos.
Part II: Shaarei Ratzon. This section encompasses the Passover Haggadah, with Customs and Kabbalistic Intentions (Kavanos) of the Arizal; Sefiras Ha’omer; Prayers for the Three Festivals; and customs for the months of Elul, High Holy Days and Succos all based on kabbalistic teachings.
This siddur was the very first siddur printed with kabbalistic secrets and intentions (Kavanos) in prayers based on the written legacy of Rabbi Chaim Vital. Compiled and authored by his prime disciple Rabbi Chaim Cohen, author of Mekor Chaim and Tor Bareket, it is regarded as an authentic source and studied in depth by kabbalists.
Salonika, 1741. First edition. Vol 1: [7], 146 leaves. Vol. 2: 56, [1] leaf. Page size: 19.3 cm. Leaf 22b features the psalm ‘Lamnatzeach’ in the shape of a menorah. The two final leaves in Vol. 2 are exceedingly rare as they were added after the original printing.
Two complete volumes with title pages. Vol. 1 has a new half-leather binding; Vol. 2 has a full new leather binding. Both volumes well-preserved in matching case. Vol. 1 has minor moth holes on the margins of several pages.
